In the urban mixed-use quarter currently under construction in Hamburg’s HafenCity, there will be a total of around 320 e-charging stations. Project developer and investor Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield (URW) supplements 220 e-charging points intended for specific usage areas or tenants with an additional 100 publicly accessible charging stations for electric vehicles. This will be one of the largest inner-city e-charging networks in Germany. read more

After a record year 2022 in leasing in Germany and Austria with 732 leases for the 23 assets in the region, Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield (URW) now invited its partners and stakeholders to its B2B networking event. On March 22 and 23, URW hosted Retail Open House – due to the strong industry-wide interest and the large number of guests at last year’s edition, the event was even spread over two days this year. The exclusive location was Automuseum Prototyp in Hamburg’s HafenCity a few minutes’ walk from the future flagship destination Westfield Hamburg-Überseequartier. Around 900 guests from the retail, gastronomy, leisure and real estate sectors followed the invitation to the company’s central industry event. read more

INTERSPORT Knudsen, a family business with roots in Northern Germany, will open an innovative concept store on almost 2,000 square metres in Westfield Hamburg-Überseequartier in spring 2024. With the sports retailer from the international INTERSPORT group, Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield (URW) is further expanding the sportswear segment of the future flagship destination. The new, urban concept will be specially tailored to the location. The store will contain special showroom elements and will be geared towards an event-based shopping experience through an atmospheric interior design. It’s healthy, gets us ahead, protects the climate, takes up very little space and is currently very popular: the bicycle. According to Deutscher Fahrrad-Club (adfc, German Bicycle Club), there are 81 million bicycles in Germany, while Kraftfahrtbundesamt (Federal Motor Transport Authority) reports 59 million cars. It is the goal of Hamburg’s politicians to increase the share of environmental transport (buses, trains, cycling and walking) to 80 percent by 2030, up from 64 percent in 2017. The proportion of cycling alone is to increase from 15 per cent to 25 to 30 per cent. Westfield Hamburg-Überseequartier would also like to see lively bicycle traffic. read more

Around 8.5 million donations in kind and more than 220 aid transports to crisis regions are just two of the results of seven years of charitable work by the Hamburg-based association Hanseatic Help. Since its founding in 2015, the tasks and challenges have not diminished. That is why, in addition to donations in kind and money, the association is always looking for helping hands. Following the Hanseatic Help motto “Simply do something”, this year’s Community Day of the Westfield Hamburg-Überseequartier staff – after the Alster Clean Up Tour last year – therefore took place on 28 September 2022 in the association’s logistics halls on Große Elbstraße. read more
